I’d like to take a moment to introduce you to an artist that has the musical dynamic of cinematographer meets melody, meets hip hop DJ, then ascends to collective down-tempo: Wax Tailor. Often identified in the trip-hop genre, Wax Tailor demonstrates a soul-funk, jazz groove, and sometimes string simulation attitude in his music. Originating out of France in 2004, he released his music to the US and North America in 2006 and has been successful since. His take on music is inspiring and goes hand in hand with any occasion that requires brainstorming or some form of creative digesting. If you enjoy music in the techo, trip-hop, dub-step, trance, electronic, or hip hop categories, then Wax Tailor’s rhythms and mixes will be an easy add to your musical repertoire.
The first Wax Tailor song I heard was ‘Que Sera’ from his 2005 album, Tales of the Forgotten Melodies. It was an absolute musical pleasure, and might I add was on repeat for the next month. I’ll leave you to the same first taste I had. Open your ears. Enjoy!
